Prayers

Becoming a Christian (or starting a relationship with God)
Jesus, through his death and resurrection, has provided every one of us with the promise of salvation and a personal relationship with God. We can do nothing more to earn it, but we do need to have the faith to accept it. Here is a prayer you can use to start that relationship:

I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life (take a few moments to ask his forgiveness for anything particular that is on your conscience). Please forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong.

Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free.

Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift.

Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever.

The Fishermen’s Mission

Please pray:
The Fishermen’s Mission cares for fishermen and their families through financial, practical and pastoral support. Ian Harwood, as Mission Port Officer at Boston, has asked for prayer for the local fishing community as it looks like they will not be able to fish for shell fish at all this year, which they depend on during spring, summer and autumn until prawn season starts in November time. Boston has one of the biggest fleets on the east coast but due to all sorts of factors it has been struggling for a number of years. If anyone would like to know more, please contact Ian

Prayer for peace in Ukraine

Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia; for their countries and their leaders.

We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.

We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness.

We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace.

We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ.

Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine.

And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen
